2015 Inductees

TERRY BIEFELD - CLASS OF 1958‚Äč

Mr. Terry Biefeld received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Upon completion of his degree, he accepted a position with Douglas Aircraft Company (aka McDonnell Douglas, Boeing and Unite Launch Alliance) and continued working for them for 47 years. While working for Douglas Aircraft Company, Mr. Biefeld received his Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California. 

Much of Terry's career focused on the Delta Launch Vehicle which first flew in 1960 and is still launching satellites today. His many accomplishments include the launch of all GPS satellites, communication satellites and weather satellites. He specialized in structural engineering and served on the Structures Committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Mr. Biefeld has  trained and mentored many young engineers during his career.

While a student at Fenton High School, Terry played football, basketball and baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society and excelled in math, chemistry and physics. He was the recipient of one of the six William H. Donner prize scholarships offered by M.I.T.

Mr. Biefeld married a Fenton High School graduate and has nine children. He coached, umpired and participated in the administration of the local Little League. He has refereed soccer for AYSO for over 35 years and has received a national referee rating for the organization.

MATTHEW LLOYD - CLASS OF 1991

Mr. Matthew Lloyd earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications and English from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He and his wife moved to Orlando, Florida when he became the Assistant General Manager of the Orlando Magic in 2012. 

Mr. Lloyd began with the Chicago Bulls in 1994 as a game-day and special projects employee in the video room. He joined the team full-time in 1999 and was the team's media services coordinator for four seasons. Matt then joined the basketball operations department in 2003 and served as senior manager of basketball operations/scout for four seasons. In addition, he also worked as a game-day employee with the Chicago White Sox in their video department for five years.

Prior to joining the Chicago Bulls full-time, Matt worked as the assistant director of information services for Conference USA and director of media services for the Arena Football League. He also completed an internship at ESPN during his senior year of college. 

CHARLES SCHLIE - CLASS OF 1984

Mr. Charles Schlie earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Concordia College, a Master's degree in School Administration from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois and a Master's degree in Religion at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Mr. Schlie has carried out humanitarian efforts in South Dakota, Guatemala, Russia, Poland, China, Cambodia and Uganda. He is the founder and board member of the Three Avocados Coffee Company which buys coffee beans from Ugandan farmers and then roasts, sells and ships the coffee to the United States. The coffee profits are used to repair fresh water wells in Uganda, directly impacting the lives of over 20,000 people. Charles is also the founding partner and board member of Hearts and Hope for Uganda. This organization provides the administration of five primary schools in Uganda for 1500 children. Over 400 of these students are sponsored by families in the U.S., providing them with school fees, a meal each day, a school uniform, shoes, school supplies and a mosquito net.

Mr. Schlie participated with Legacy International, leasing land in rural southern China for a rubber-tree plantation and factory providing employment and improvements for the community of Ban Bing Village. The plantation/factory was sold in 2010 but continues to operate and positively impact the lives of many today.

Charles Schlie is married with five children, has taught junior high school and is currently a school board member, conference presenter and associate pastor.
